A message from Mike Greenberg, Re-Recording Mixer, California.

My inspiring words of wisdom and advice to anyone entering into the industry is to use your ears, not your eyes. We have so many software tools available to us now as audio professionals that help us in our day to day business. It’s easy to forget that the art of audio is to listen and to learn what you’re listening for. Sure, the graphical interfaces of plugins and DAWS are great and give us an added benefit to mixing, editing, tweaking, etc. but at the end of the day, it’s our ears that let us know what we are hearing. Learn to trust them and learn what to listen for, ie. Compression, EQ, phasing, clicks, pops, etc. In this industry they’re you’re best friend, take care of them.
